It's pretty cool actually, and not a bad way for apple to continue to leverage their hipster cred. The interface looks well thought out and easy to use. The music learning software I've used or sold (back in the day when I was a retail robot) were all pretty awful to use. This looks like not a bad addition and everyones used to paying money in small chunks to apple for things these days, so the paid lessons should go down alright too. No substitute for a proper instructor obviously.

4 Way Korg DS-10 Jam

Dylab has a 4 way Korg DS-10 jam up. I know a lot of us wanted Electroplankton to fill this kind of role and it's really cool to see the DS as instrument thing finally happen. The jam features briefly in the intro this video:

You can visit Dylab's site to listen to the whole thang.

Also he's just released a 4 track EP with hard acid on it. You can have a listen and purchase it from Juno.

Updating onetonne

Well it's the last day of my holidays and I'm spending a bit of time updating onetonne to bring it into the current century. I've thrown out the old template and I have to start from scratch. Hurray for newness! (Sorry if things get broken in the process!)

Darth Vader Mask Symphony

Fabien Giraud et Raphaƫl Siboni Last Manoeuvres in the Dark at the Palais de Tokyo Paris. Each Darth vader mask is equipped with a microprocessor connected to a central computer to give an artificial intelligence system developed to work out the darkest musical hit of all time.

I love that they're arranged into a imperial destroyer style triangle.

Pitch Bending Thumb Piano

This is lovely - the sound is really nice. I haven't seen guitar pickups used on thumb pianos before, but I spose it makes good sense.

Another poster, this time for Thomas Vecera. Check out his rather tasty solo acoustic business over at his sonic bids page.

As a special extra bonus, you can see the process of how I made this poster after the jump. It's 300 odd kb, so if you're on a steam powered dialup connection, maybe give it a miss.

Recent gig poster for an indie music night at Dohertys in Wales. Just cause I like monsters with guitars on fire.
